This Lime Twist (and their 4 other flavors) contain a low dose of THC (5mg) paired with an equal dose of CBD which has so many wonderful anti-inflammatory and anxiety-reducing properties. I feel like this drink has almost a medicinal quality! And it’s so perfect for someone with an inflammatory autoimmune condition (like me!).

Putty is BAAACK 💥

Each year @verdantbrew release their iconic DIPA. Is it a hype beer? Yes. Is it deserving of the hype? Also yes.

Right away, on the nose you're hit with a tropical fruit explosion: ripe mango, overripe peach and juicy pineapple, all swirling together in an aromatic haze. On the first sip, you realise that this is pillowy soft, creamy and, again, dripping with tropical goodness: big hits of mango, papaya and peach, followed by grapefruit zest and sticky, resinous pine. The finish is slightly bitter but does lean more on the fruity side.

As far as Puttys go, this year's is one of my favourites!

finally got my hands on the @berobrewing variety pack and i have fallen in love! i am so excited to have an na beer option that i actually look forward to drinking. my current fave is the edge hill hazy ipa 😍 the tropical fruit notes are really balanced by the slightly dank hops. my eyes genuinely widened when i took my first sip!

Let’s take our minds off the frigid temps. Hot coffee? Vanilla lattes? Oh I know! How about Ommegang’s Limited Release Grande Tripel?

This Belgian-style tripel with coffee and vanilla pours a glowing golden color with a nice fluffy head that sticks around.

Right away, you get those classic tripel aromas—fruity esters, a little spice from the Belgian yeast—but then, surprise! There’s this subtle roasted coffee note swirling in, like the smell of your favorite café in the morning.

First sip? Whoa. That smooth vanilla rounds everything out so perfectly, softening the booze and blending with the malty sweetness. The coffee doesn’t overpower—it’s more of a gentle roastiness that plays really well with the traditional tripel flavors. It’s got that signature dry, effervescent finish, making each sip dangerously easy for a 9% beer.

Honestly, this is a tripel with a twist done right. Complex but balanced, warming but smooth. If you’re into Belgian ales and love a little something extra, you need to try this one before it’s gone.

Lost in the Swamp!

I really have no words. Lost in the Woods - NBB’s annual party in their foeder forest - is simply the best brewery party I have ever been to. The decor, the attention to detail, the costumes, the whimsical themes that transport us to childhood where magic is absolutely real. I wish I was still there!

They had so many exclusive beers to try, and my favorites were the Spiced Apple Tripel, the Dorada Oscura, and Miel Honey Lager.

The dance floor was 🔥 and the DJs really knew how to work the crowd.

Annnd none of my face gems fell off! (Evidenced in the last clip of the reel)

When it's nice, buy it thrice 😍

I chose @holygoatbrewing for my most recent @brewserbeer box and gravitated towards this little beauty: Spectral Lore, a 5.9% Framboise style sour beer with 220g/l Scottish tayberries. If you're unfamiliar with tayberries, they're a cross between blackberries and raspberries, named after the River Tay, which runs through Holy Goat's home of Dundee 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

First of all, this pours the most beeeeeeautiful, deep burgundy colour. I wish I could bottle the aroma: it's pure, unmistakable, berry jam! On first sip, you quickly realise that this beer is fully saturated with summer berry smoothie flavours. There's also a touch of fresh stray / hay, I think coming from the base. This was literally making my tongue tingle and salivate as I was drinking it; absolutely perfect level of sourness.

In fact, Spectral Lore 2024 was SO good, and I was SO sad when I finished it, I ended up ordering 3 more bottles immediately 😂 Definitely my beer of the year so far!

This afternoon the Husboy and I finally paid a vis

This afternoon the Husboy and I finally paid a visit to brewery taproom @copperhead_ales in Totnes. I often get asked about good beer places to visit in Devon and the South West; well I can definitely add Copperhead to the list now!

Really lovely little space with a great view of the brewery kit. While they're still a small operation, you can tell that Jack and Jordan care so much about the quality of the beer they're producing, and how it's served.

I started with Smoove, their 3.9% velvet oatmeal stout. Smooth (as you might expect from its name), creamy, plenty of cold brew coffee and chocolate notes, wrapped up in a low ABV package. Next, I had their 4.4% Crucial Pils, served in a chilled glass👌🏼Deliciously crisp, clean, with a lovely full, round mouthfeel.

It was a shame we couldn't have stayed for longer, I could have happily worked my way through the board. But all the more reason to return 😁

I didn’t choose to do Dry January, but I did try to embrace a Gentle January. Listening to myself, building new habits, and being kind to myself while giving a gentle look at my life. To that end, here is a non-beer treat I decided to try at one of my favorite hangs, @mezeeaterygv

I’ve passed by @elixart so many times while in Nevada City, but never taken the time to go in, and often pass up their beautiful bottles for something I know already.

I am so glad I didn’t do that today! This drink is a bubbly fermented beverage made from honey and herbs with green puer tea and Chardonnay grapes. It tastes like honey without being too sweet, and has a beautiful floral flavor that reminds me of a honeysuckle bush. It feels truly special.

Here’s to finding what is good for you in the new year!

Dry-ish January is almost over and I’m both happy & sad about it, to be honest.

By intentionally replacing half of my usual drinks with NA drinks, I’ve cut my consumption and made some discoveries about why I’ve been reaching for beers at 5pm every day, and how easily my sleep can be disrupted by drinking after 7pm.

I don’t want to (and won’t) go back to my old habits.

@rationalebrewing has been a perfect brewery to support my ongoing NA journey. This brewery consistently delivers excellent NA beers - beers that aren’t just a substitute for alcoholic ones, but stand on their own entirely. Their newest release, a crisp and refreshing Kölsch, is subtly fruity, bready, and dry with just a hint of spice. It’s the real deal!

By drinking less ABVs, my sleep has improved and - if it could talk - my liver would probably be thanking me. I overall feel slightly healthier and more optimistic about continuing this trend of drinking more NA and less A.

It’s the Rational(e) choice! Haha, see what I did there?

About last Saturday… 🍻

Exhausted by the relentless responsibilities of motherhood, four mommas went out into the cold and snow, searching for a brewery to enjoy some beers and adult conversations.

Finding most establishments closed at 8pm, they found themselves at Pitchers, a local sports pub.

There was pool, there were darts, and there were abundant pitchers of beer.

Ordering a pitcher of beer for a group of four mommas on a Saturday night says: “Tonight, we’re here to laugh, let loose, and talk about everything and nothing all at once.”

It doesn’t even matter what the beer is, it’s the glue of the evening.

Sharing a pitcher isn’t just sharing a beer—it’s an exclamation point at the start of an night full of inside jokes, commiseration, and maybe some half-baked plans for world domination (or just surviving next week’s school drop-offs).

When’s the last time you ordered a pitcher? For me, it was 20 years ago at @cass_street_bar in Pacific Beach, where my friends and I would gather every weekend to play shuffleboard and frankly, get wasted.

Getting wasted is definitely hasn’t been a goal of mine for a while now, but cheers to ordering a pitcher or two with your pals - its a joyful rallying cry for camaraderie and a much-deserved break.

i looove breweries, but man do i love a great taproom! i love tasting beers from all over, discovering new breweries i want to visit and leaving with a few fun cans ☺️

at @the_beer_hog in pelham, alabama, they really had something for everyone. i got SO excited when i saw @brouwerijwest duchesse de bourgogne. i've been craving a flanders red and love the balsamic flavor and mouthfeel of this one. i also enjoyed a favorite of mine, rogue hazelnut brown, along with martin house peachy keen that was wonderfully sweet and tart, and last but not least yellowhammer groovy west coast which tasted like a delicious pine forest 😍

You’ll think it’s summer all over again, and don’t we need a little of that right now? I know I do.

I desperately needed to share this adaptogenic, anti-inflammatory drinky-drink from @bustylush with you today. It’s a hibiscus and chili infused “mezcalita” and She’s Marvelous!

Obviously this isn’t beer (and @laceandlager is a beer account) but it’s still relevant as I think we are all tentatively approaching a sober-ish lifestyle, especially with the new surgeon general warnings on labels 😬

No warning needed on this label! It’s delicious, healthy, and provides a brief escape from the January doldrums.

Might I suggest pairing it with a bubble bath?

JK, but she’s a big one, and I’ve been having a very serious big beer love affair this winter. Something about slowly sipping something with body and flavor and strength has become a genuine comfort to me. I may only have one, but I’ll be happy.

So, what’s in my glass? This deep dark stunner is @timnathbeerwerks double barrel-aged Little Tank, which is a 17.8% small batch Imperial Stout aged in an Old Elk young Bourbon barrel for 21 months, and then transferred to a Law’s San Luis rye whiskey barrel to age for 10 more months. It’s astoundingly smooth for its strength, with notes of oak, chocolate, and dark fruit, and it finishes with a really pleasant warmth.

This is a beer to hold close, let slowly warm in your hand, and sip at the most leisurely pace, because you’re happy and you’re ✨c h i l l i n.✨ Oh, so lovely.

Beak jumper and Beak beer? SNAP 🃏 For Christmas, the Husboy spoiled me with a big order from @beakbrewery : one of my favourites UK breweries 😍

Choosing what to have first was hardddd, but in the end I went for Snap: a 6.5% hazy IPA with Eclipse, Simcoe and Citra. The aroma is bursting with tangerine and grapefruit. Classic Beak mouthfeel: soft, pillowy, incredibly quaffable. Deliciously juicy; packed with citrus and a pithy hop bitterness.

I'd love to know if you have a favourite UK brewery? Or even a favourite Beak beer?

i'll admit it, i didn't actually open this beer on the trail, i waited to drink it till we got back to the parking lot, but it joined us on the hike juuuuust in case we needed some mid-hike suds 😆

@duclawbrewingco sour me imperial apricot sour ale rings in a 7.1% and is abbbsssolutely so refreshing. the apricot is the first smell and taste you get, then it rolls into a sweet sourness. i'm surprised it's an imperial, it really doesn't taste like it's high abv, nor does it have a heavy mouthfeel. it's a wonderful adventure companion!

you know who else is a wonderful companion? my husband, josh 🖤 i have to give him a quick shout out because we're currently on an anniversary trip to oak mountain state park celebrating 19 years together 😍 he is the instagram husband behind the camera of 95% of my posts and he has not only patience, but a great eye 😘 i just love him and am so grateful for his love and support and adventurous spirit 🥰

Ah, Twixmas – that magical time between Christma

Ah, Twixmas – that magical time between Christmas and New Year’s where no one knows what day it is, but we all agree it’s perfect for cozying up with a great beer 🎄🍺

This evening, I cracked open Double Decker: a stout from @360brewco that I can definitely get on board with 🚌. Since I last tried this, 360 have lowered the ABV from 6% to 4.9%, and don't appear to have compromised the body or flavour. Dark chocolate and coffee on the nose. Smooth, sweet; cacao, vanilla and a slight nuttiness in the taste. Very drinkable; so much so I reached for another straight afterwards!
