You wont see me enjoying IPA’s often bc well I prefer the sweet and tart over the bitter BUT I will still always try them just to say I did!

A friend sent me this and being that it has part of my IG handle in it…..I knew I had to say I tried it! It wasn’t horrible, I’ll leave it at that lol.

I appreciate the craft that goes into every single style of beer made whether I enjoy it or not. Also, a pretty can will get me to buy it every time 🤣💕

Can’t stop, won’t stop 🍻

To continue my posts about NorCal breweries, here’s the last spot we loved - @tallguybrewing in Fort Bragg. This spot was spawned from a love of homebrewing, science, and quality beer, and a loathing of LA traffic, all things I’m very aligned with.

I’m also very passionate about high ABV beers, such as this one: Lisa’s Winter Warmer. It’s a 14% Imperial Stout brewed with vanilla beans, coffee beans, cacao nibs, and chilies!

I know it’s summertime and super hot outside, but this brew was the perfect sipper for the misty oceanside town of Fort Bragg, where redwoods meet the ocean, and sand and fog is basically everywhere.

When I hear Hoppin Frog, I immediately think of the Turbo Shandy line of beers. I also know that it’s gonna be a beer I love 😍

Mmmmmm, Citra Galaxy 🤤

I'm just back from a BBQ with friends ☀️. Having chased our little one about all day, and been the designated driver, I think I now deserve a little beer 😜

This version of Twin Cities by @lefthandedgiantbrewing is a 5.2% GF pale. Citrus zest, peach skin and mango waft out of the glass as soon as you start to pour. The hops are working their usual magic: bright, tropical and just a touch dank. Plenty of mango, passion fruit, clementine and orange zest.

Let’s talk about weird beers bc I am ALL for them. We see all sorts of weird (and random) things thrown into beer. For example, I’d like to meet the person who decided hey let’s put this pine tree in here, I bet it would taste amazing! 🤣🤦🏼‍♀️

This fantastic sour wheat ale is from @youngbloodbeerco and has rosemary! 🤯🤯

Apple cider too! It is soo good. It drinks like sweet cider and then you get this burst of rosemary and you’re thinking…ya know this really works!!

Behold! Photographic evidence of me drinking a PranQster AND a Le Merle at the source.

Both Belgian style ales, these are the top two beers I sampled while passing through Fort Bragg last week!

P is floral, fruity, and clean; M is similarly amazing but with a deeper tone and fuller mouthfeel - and was the winner of the Brussels Beer Challenge!

Of course we drank a barrel-aged Old Rasputin and took some barleywine to go, and they both were 🤩, even though the latter was slightly over carbonated (scroll right). Whoops!

@newtrailbrewing Red, White, & Blueberry Sour 🇺🇸🫐🍓🍋

New Trail is located in Williamsport, PA. I’m lucky enough to pick up their beers locally and they have quickly become a local favorite of mine 😋🍻

Red, White, and Blueberry is brewed with large amounts of blueberries, strawberries, and lemon. The lemon and blueberry flavors really shine bright in this one. While this beer isn’t a shandy, it reminds me a lot of shandy. What I love most is that it has a touch of sweetness and a nice tart punch at the end 💥 Not too sour, not too sweet!
Perfect brew for your summer cookouts & floating in the pool 🌭🍔🏊🏻‍♀️☀️

Who doesn't love a Pilsner on a sunny day?!

Discovered this @fastfashionbeer x @firestonewalker collab in our local bottle shop. Coastal Spanner is a West Coast Pils with Rakau and Mosaic; the style definitely intrigued me.

Deliciously crisp like a classic pilsner, but packed with the piney, citrus notes you associate more with Westies.

Right out of the can, the aroma hits with bright citrus peel, a little stone fruit and a lovely piney dankness. For taste, it’s got that clean malt backbone you want from a pils, but layered with juicy grapefruit, some more subtle tropical notes and a dry, snappy bitterness that lingers just long enough.

This beautiful sunny weather we are having here in NE Ohio calls for a fabulous sour.

Berry Crumble Jam from @foundationbrew is perfect for this! It’s a sour ale brewed with milk sugar and fermented with blueberry, cranberry and blackberry. Pouring a rich red, and packed with fruit, vanilla and cobbler spices.

Yum! 😋

@swilleddog is a small-batch cider company that was founded in 2016 in Upper Tract, (Pendleton County), West Virginia. Swilled Dog is female owned 🤘🏻💪🏻 and has become an industry leader within West Virginia craft beer & the hard cider industry throughout the US🤘🏻

If you try one of their ciders, you’ll see why 😍 I’m sipping on the wild berry. This is one of their flagship flavors. This is a fruit explosion 💥 Tons of great blackberry, raspberry, and apple flavors. Very crisp & very refreshing. Slightly on the sweet side as well 😋🍎

Meet me for a 🍺 in the Redwoods

My family and I are on a road trip in Northern California, a region I have never explored despite living in California for many years!

During the day, we are either hiking the woods, humbled by the strength, size, and beauty of the coastal redwood trees, or we are on the windy 🌬️ beaches searching for sea creatures and building small “villages” near the water, waiting for “tsunamis” to destroy them. Such is the life with two kiddos!

In the evening (4pm for us 🤣) you’ll find us at local breweries for drinks, card games (well, Uno) and grub.

@redwoodcurtainbrewing was so good we went there twice! My favorites were the DIPA and the whiskey barrel aged imperial stout. They even had a barleywine! Their dedicated food truck - South G Kitchen - had the best & biggest kids tacos (the kids didn’t even complain about the veggies on top) and freshest locally caught rockfish ever. Highly recommend!

I’ve totally fallen in love with Trinidad, Arcata, and this whole area. Can’t wait to return someday and drive even further north into the woods 🌲

This is the new @dogfishhead Pickle Braw Lager 🥒🍻
This is a special brew that Dog Fish created for a pickle ball tournament they recently held 🏓 It’s a crisp lager flavored with pickling spices and vinegar! The pickling spices and vinegar are not overpowering, but did pair very well with the grains in the lager 😋 It’s light and refreshing with that salty & vinegar taste you know and love from pickles 🤘🏻
Very happy to add this to my list of pickle beers 🍻

Looper by @fullcirclebrew has long been a firm favourite of mine. I’ve been patiently waiting for it to come back into stock on FC's webshop - and you know the saying, 'you wait for one bus and two come at once'? Well, not only did they restock Looper, but they dropped a Westie version too 😍

First off, this beer is visually stunning; it reminds me of amber - not amber in the traditional beer sense, but fossilised tree sap kind of amber 🦟 .

On the nose, resin and pine hit first, then comes a juicy burst of berry, peach and clementine. These notes very much follow on in the taste. Bitterness is spot-on: satisfying enough to remind you it’s a Westie, but without tipping into harsh territory. All of the flavours work very much in harmony; this is punchy, clear, bright and verrry repeatable.

I only wish I bought more! 🙈

Hey there! I’m Elizabeth, @petal_bound_brews and I’m the new Thursday face here! Extremely excited and honored to be here with these beautiful craft beer ladies! I love their mission and trying to get more women into the craft beer world. Us women love our beer too! 😉

Born and raised in Cleveland, OH….I’m a proud Midwest girl 💪🏼 We have a HUGE craft beer scene here not only in Cleveland, but as well as Ohio. Love supporting my local breweries and getting out there to try new ones. Some of my favorites are @eleventhreebrewing @mastheadbrewing @glbc_cleveland @darkroombrewingco and @noble_beast_brewing

Beer wise I love sours and stouts but I do also enjoy blonde/brown ales and lagers. I’m very open to all beer (except IPAs) I will still try them though just to say I did!

My little girl rocks an extra 21st chromosome, meaning she has Down Syndrome. I am a big time supporter and advocate of the whole DS community. Back in March I came across a group of some amazing individuals out of PA, @3.21forlifepa who got to brew their own beer, The Down Right Awesome Lager, at @troegs_hershey for World Down Syndrome Day. I was able to get 2 cases of the beer and share it with a whole bunch of friends of mine all over the US. It meant the world to me to be able to be a small part of that and to get the word out on inclusion for those with special needs. It opened up my eyes to just how big and diverse the beer world really is.

I can’t wait to show you some of my favorite beers here on Thursdays and support these other ladies, and ALL women, in the beer world!

No matter the weather, I'm a stout gal fo' life 🖤🤘🏼

Absolutely thrilled to have found this beer today: Black Ditch is @baron.brewing 's first attempt at a massive adjunct 11% impy stout: lactose, Peruvian cacao nibs during primary, followed by a later edition of Ugandan vanilla beans, caramel and chocolate. Doesn't that just sound mind-blowingly delicious?!?

The aroma is pure, sticky chocolate gateau. Smooth, medium bodied; taste is a massive, boozy mixture of dark chocolate, raisin, molasses and vanilla. As it warms, the initial booziness starts to mellow and the vanilla becomes much more prominent.
