Football is back baby!!!

It was a beautiful Sunday here in Northeast Ohio. The game was not so beautiful but that’s okay, it was still a great game. My loyalty to the Cleveland Browns can either be admired or pitied 🤣

Joe Thomas is my all time favorite Browns player and one of the few that truly stayed loyal to Cleveland. He played from 2007 to 2017, all while lining up for what amounted to 10,363 consecutive snaps in a Browns uniform.

73 Kolsch is a beer made by @glbc_cleveland It is named for him, his jersey number. It’s a hybrid style between lager and ale at 5.7% alcohol. It’s crisp, biscuity and perfect for tailgating or drinking while watching your team miss easy field goals 🙃

Proof that good beer can exist on supermarket shelves 👀🍻

@brewyorkbeer got in touch with me a few months back and kindly sent over some cans of their 4.5% hazy, session IPA, Coney, and let me know they'd soon be stocked in Asda stores.

I must admit, I can be a little dubious of supermarket beers, particularly pales. They’re often, sadly, not stored cold, which can age them quickly, and breweries obviously have to work within a tighter budget which can mean they're not always very hop-forward. However, Coney really delivers! In fact, I enjoyed the initial cans so much that that I’ve picked up a 4-pack pretty much every time I’ve been in Asda since 😅. (So really this post has been a long time coming!)

It pours with a lovely dark yellow haze; good body and hardly any bitterness. Plenty of orange pith, mango and peach.

I actually think this is the perfect supermarket beer to coax a non-craft drinker over to the dark (or pale..!) side of craft beer. Citra, Mosaic and Simcoe are just such a classic, delicious hop combo 🤤. Super easy to drink, and layered enough to be very moreish.

I can’t get enough of @theforgepub and its historic vibes and old English pub-style aura, probably because I’m an Anglophile and am obsessed with all things England except the Royals (sorry, not sorry).

Here on this leather chaise, I’m thoroughly enjoying a barrel aged imperial stout. It’s so nice to drink a dark beer as the nights are getting a bit longer and the air is cooling. Soon, the leaves will change and everything will get a bit cozier.

I can’t wait, tbh. But please no winter yet. Autumn leaves, yes. Icy breeze, no.

This is SO REFRESHING!! Of all the pickle beers, Martin House pickle beers have the BEST pickle flavor. This is like a fair classic w/ the pickle twist! You get the tart and sweetness from the lemonade with a big dill punch 💥 Very crushable on a warm summer day! Pickle lovers, you MUST try 🤩😋🍻

@makai_brewing_co is a hidden little gem down in Ocean Isle Beach, NC. We discovered it last year and this time around we were able to sit and relax at the bar! The whole brewery is a tiki vibe and it’s amazing 🌴

Don’t be shocked but I got their sour 🤣🤪

It’s my 11th year celebrating Beer, Bikes, and B

It’s my 11th year celebrating Beer, Bikes, and Bemusement with @newbelgium_foco and Tour de Fat!

This year’s theme was “Come as you are,” so naturally I brought back my Free Helmet Dusting for the 3rd year. I also expanded operations with Free Knuckle Dusting (a huge hit) and Free Knee Dusting (less popular, for reasons unknown 😂).

To date, New Belgium has raised nearly $6 million for local organizations that make biking safer, more accessible, and fun for everyone.

Although the day ends with a festival at the brewery, for me the parade is the true highlight. It’s the greatest costumed bike parade of all time, and my family treats TDF like a national holiday.

This year my husband and I attempted the “real” festival with our young kids, but we departed quickly: at 1:30pm, it was soooo overcrowded, the beer lines stretched 50 feet, and drunk college students congested the scene. The contrast with the whimsical, family-friendly parade was stark.

I’d love to see New Belgium return to its roots: smaller-scale, values-driven, with a focus on youth bike advocacy, environmental education, and sustainability. The current massive party dilutes the intimacy and communal spirit that once defined it.

Still, the parade was magnificent, spontaneous, very grassroots, and full of grandeur. Next year, I hope the festival matches its magic and once again shines like a rainbow over a waterfall of ho-hummity. 🌈🚲🍻

Summer is quickly coming to an end and my pallet is shifting back into dark beer szn mode 😋 Goat Rope is a light-bodied 5.4% porter. Although it’s not a heavy on the ABV’s, the coffee and peanut butter flavors hit hard on first sniff and sip 🤩 Dark, malty, rich, and silky smooth. What more could you ask for?

When your favourite cocktail meets beer! 🍸🍺

Being a huge coffee addict (how does anyone do life without a minimum of 4 cups a day? 🤔), an espresso martini has long been one of my faaaavorite cocktails. So, you can imagine my delight when I found @wiperandtrue 's 8.4% Double Espresso Martini Shake on tap in @hos_cardiff .

It's exactly what you'd expect: bold, dark-roast coffee on the nose. Silky-smooth body. In terms of taste: tonnes of creamy coffee alongside rich milk chocolate notes; cacao, vanilla with a deliciously bittersweet espresso finish.

I can’t believe that summer is basically over but I’m ready for all the fall things. This beer from @pigmindsbrewingco is the perfect mix of summer and fall as it’s loaded with summer berries and hibiscus but it’s called Jampire 🤣🧛‍♀️

Jampire Gose
Sour - Traditional Gose
Loaded with strawberry, red raspberry, Pink Himalayan salt and conditioned on Egyptian hibiscus, this vegan vampire juice finishes with a nice tartness.

As you can tell I drank it in the pool and it was so refreshing and full of that tartness that makes the back of your mouth hurt. The kind I love 🤣🤣

Twinning with my poolside buddy 🐟☀️ Trying my best Crimson Snapper face while sipping on this beauty from @pipeworksbrewing .

This one’s a tropical red dipa brewed with blood oranges, giving it a zippy, almost cocktail-like vibe that’s perfect for summer lounging. The malt backbone keeps it smooth and balanced, while the citrus adds that little puckery snap (see what they did there?).

And of course, Pipeworks nails the can art again. Their labels always feel like a mash-up between a comic book and a fever dream, and this fish is no exception. Bold, a little weird, and totally fun, just like their beer lineup.

Tonka is and has always been one of my faaaaavourite beer adjuncts, so I was thrilled when the Husboy came home with a growler of the goods: Tonka Monster - @topshambrewery 🖤

Honestly, this is one of my top beers. Delightfully full-bodied for only 5.4%; super smooth, rich and decadent. The aroma is, as you might expect, very tonka-led; that characteristic and complex mix of vanilla, almond and warming spice. This permeates through into the taste, alongside notes of milk-chocolate and roasty coffee.

This is a sour that isn’t messing around! It’s jam packed with great tart raspberry flavor 😋💥It’s giving very sour candy taste and I’m all about it! 🍬 It’s light-bodied, crushable, and not super carbonated which makes it such an easy drinker. Great beer for chilling out after a long day 🍻 This is another topnotch Michigan beer! 🤘🏻🍻
Plus, it looks even nicer in my mushroom cup w/ my GSD, Titan, modeling 🐶🩵

Brewed in collaboration with @450northbrewingco @streetsidebrewery and @fabledbrewworks

It tasted just like a yummy yogurt and granola parfait mixed with lots of warm fresh summer berries.

Oxymorons are usually things like “jumbo shrimp” or “civil war”… but can we add craft pilsner to the list? 😅

I used to think pilsners were boring—aka the opposite of what I’d look for in a beer—but Tiny Bomb by @wiseacrebrewingcompany changed my mind in the most delicious way.

It’s light but layered, approachable but still interesting, and somehow both clean and complex. Brewed with local wildflower honey, it finishes crisp and snappy, just like a pils should.

Pilsners are having an extended moment right now—and honestly, I get it.

I mean…my goodness 😍 First of all, this is clocking in at 6.4% so it’s not super heavy to enjoy in the summer! Second, this beer is a cinnamon roll explosion! You get sweetness from the white chocolate, but it’s not too sweet. Very creamy, some coffee flavors, great vanilla flavor. That cinnamon flavor really hits big! Sometimes cinnamon can be overpowering, but this isn’t! Such a slam dunk of a beer for me!

New house, new beer! 📦🏠🍻

HEY GUESS WHAT... We did a grown up thing! We bought a house! 3 moves in 3 years but now this is IT. There's boxes pretty much everywhere, chaos in every room, I feel so exhausted and bedraggled, but this time it's actually OURS 🤩

It's been a long day of packing, unpacking, cleaning, driving and chasing a very excited small person around. But it's almost 9pm and I've finally sat down and am enjoying a beer in celebration. Hello Squire by @fullcirclebrew is a 4.5% session NEIPA, kindly sent to me by the brewery team.

On the nose, you get orange zest, grapefruit and mango. Plenty of citrus character in the taste - reminds me of when you bite into an orange: there's a deliciously pithy bitterness, but also a concentrated, zesty spray of juice. Vibrant, refreshing and sessionable!!

I recently stopped at a super cute brewery in the Fairfax, VA area and was blown away by the awesome beers & atmosphere 🍻🤘🏻

@eavesdropbrewery | Glitter Bois-Party Hat & Big Pidgey- Banana Cream Pie pictured (Bluebirdies & Cream not pictured)

Glitter Bois was a blue raspberry & lemon seltzer with, you guessed it, ✨GLITTER ✨ It was tart, refreshing, citrusy, and slightly sweet! I wish it had more sparkles in it, but that’s okay!

Banana Cream Pie was a smoothie sour 🤤🤤 She was THICC, sweet, & slightly tart. Big banana and vanilla flavors. This was hands down my favorite from the trip!

This is definitely a brewery that’s on my revisit list! They had a huge outdoor seating area, equipped with large fans that had water misting out. Which, on a 90 some degree day, was definitely needed. Food was available next door with some different options for everyone! This is a place where you take your friends, bring the kids, bring the dogs, and just have fun! 🤩
